You really would think it'd be (Wicked voice) loathing, unadulterated loathing--but it's not, actually. There is a flare of irritation, with a touch of anxiety and general UGH-ness, but it's vastly overshadowed by the exhaustion, sorrow, worry, and steady, constant guilt that Rang's probably going to get walloped with if he gets close enough. The emotions don't change even when he spots Rang, though Rang's words cause him to close his eyes as a fresh wave of sympathy and grief washes over him.
