[I cannot consistently capitalize my day/week headers to save my life this is killing me
ANYWAY
After making a big ol' fuss, Kaveh is... around! Somewhere. Just chilling on a curb somewhere, probably, nursing a coffee and gazing out at the shadowy figures around them. He seems lost in thought, and a touch sad--though his expression clears when he sees Matsui, and he straightens a little, greeting him with a nod.]
But nice! What a mood. He also likes sitting places and being depressed! He'll come join Kaveh where he's vibing on the curb, though he has no food or drink to speak of.]
ANYWAY I WROTE UP MY WHOLE STARTER BUT IT'S FUCKING GONE NOW SO YOU GET A SLAPDASH VERSION I'M SORRY. Matsui can find Kaveh at Mcdonald's, curled up in a booth; there's a half-empty coffee cup next to him, but his gaze is fixed out the window, and he doesn't seem inclined to touch it.
He won't glance over until Matsui comes closer; when he does, he just greets Matsui with a quiet nod.]
[He will just take a seat across from him, giving him space because he has no fuckin clue how to properly comfort a person going through it. And he's sure Kaveh is going through it...]
[That's fair and valid. Kaveh doesn't want to be fussed over anyway; he already feels so ridiculously guilty, and all the concern from everyone just makes it worse.
Still, he won't turn Matsui away. He's too desperate for company for that, even if he won't ever admit it.]
Kaveh is walking through the new area, looking around. He looks like he's trying to find someone... when he spots Matsui, he perks up and comes over!!]
Matsui's had such a terrible morning and this is just one more thing on the pile of terrible shit that's already happened to him. He's vibrating with murderous energy!!! But at least it's not directed at Kaveh (yet).]
Fortunately or not, Kaveh is very sensitive to people's energies--it may not be directed at him, but it's enough to make him pause. Hmmm.
Unfortunately, red string pull too strong]
I'm not sure, actually. I've just been getting the feeling I need to find him, for some reason. [HMMM. Maybe this will help...] Do you want to come with me?
[Okay well. This sucks and Kaveh is miserable but if there's one thing he's good at, it's turning his focus to other people, so. He is here tracking Matsui down!!]
He'll come sit, though. This place has no religious significance to him whatsoever, but that doesn't matter when you're an architect, really. He gets it.
The shamelessness has worn off by now, but he opts for honesty anyway.]
...It would be a lie to say I was. ...He was so sweet--I don't understand.
[Why someone would target him, of all people. He was kind and caring, but not even close to the weakest person here, even if he came from such a normal life and world. It makes no sense.]
[Okay well here's the thing--Kaveh still doesn't believe it was Buzen or Matsui. He'd meant what he said to Kazuki, in the trial. But that doesn't stop him from scouring everywhere for Matsui--can he be found at all?]
[He can be! Quite easily for Kaveh, in fact. He's back on his prayer bullshit again... Same pew same place, pretty much at any point after trial ends. Just interrupt his ass im begging]
[MATSUI GET OUT OF THE CATHEDRAL!! YOU CAN'T LIVE HERE!!!!
That's what Kaveh says as he barges in--no just kidding. He approaches, but he doesn't sit down; just lingers partially in front of him, like he isn't quite sure what to do.]
Matsui. [...There's a pause, like he wants to say more, but the words don't come.]
[I'm just going to assume Matsui is at this creepy fucking house
Thankfully Kaveh's Constant Bad Feelings are overruled by the general vibe of Horror Movie Anxiety for the moment, as he looks over his shoulder for like the fifth time]
Ugh--whatever's back there, just come out already!
[From the gloom of the house emerges........ More gloom..........
Truly Matsui just steps from the shadows like a vampire, radiating the energy of an ailing seaside Victorian staring longingly out at the waves from their sickbed, trying to accept the fact that their beloved simply won't make it down the rough wagon trail before he passes away of the wasting disease.
IE it's mostly just melancholy and a vague undercurrent of Catholic guilt, but also a little thread of curiosity. And some vague contentedness, because he is in a spooky, damp, funky little place.]
[im so tired of starting cathedral pcs MATSUI IS HERE THE VIBES ARE RANCID HE'S JUST SITTING IN A PEW STARING INTO NOTHING. Does Kaveh want to vibe with this horrible energy.]
But yes, Kaveh will come and vibe. He hesitates when he enters the church--not because he's afraid of Matsui's emotions, but because he doesn't think Matsui will respond well to the empathetic heartache Kaveh can't restrain, if he responds to anything at all.
Still... Kaveh gave him space yesterday and earlier today, but he can't not check on him. So slowly, tentatively, he approaches, and if Matsui lets him, he'll take a seat.
Softly:]
...Did it help?
[Catching the killer, or killers. He knows that in the end, it doesn't really mean anything--but if it's brought Matsui even the tiniest sliver of peace, he will take it.]
[The next time Kaveh focuses on his pin, there's Matsui! Surprise! He's like sitting on fucking nothing in the middle of the air wherever Kaveh is and he looks a little startled to see this mans suddenly materialize.]
THERE'S A MATSUIIII Kaveh's probably just wandering around and concentrating and looking for everybody he can find tbh. He looks relieved to see Matsui!]
Ah? Oh--no, thank goodness. I never want to think about that game again.
[Well, hilariously, Matsui can find him... at the park memorial!!! Where all the crosses are. Kaveh really took up the role of being Catholic for him for so many weeks.
He doesn't actually have alcohol with him; he's just got his hands in his pockets as he gazes at the vast array of crosses, lost in thought. He turns at Matsui's approach, though, and gives him a small, tired smile.]
Well, this is fine. Matsui's coming over here to check it out because he hasn't in a while, and when he spots Kaveh, he'll nod in gentle greeting.]
...Yes, I am. [Will he be a little sad and miss some people here? Yes. Is that enough to make him feel not ready to go back to his significantly better somehow world? No.] Are you?

Yes, that's correct. You look distressed.

At Matsui's words, he blinks, looking momentarily uneasy before he tries for a reassuring smile.]
Oh... no, I'm alright. I was just thinking.
