I can see the potential appeal in areas with harsher climates. Plenty of animals live underground to stay safe and keep their temperatures controlled, so I suppose it makes sense that people might pursue it as well.
I prefer being able to see the sky as well. [Hmmm.] It does make me wonder... do they turn this artificial sun off at night? Or have they adapted to it being on forever?
I guess it depends on how inconvenient some of them would find it. I've lived at my job sites before, but it's nice to spend the night in your own bed.
That's always ideal, yes. But sometimes it's impractical. Granted, construction work is a unique situation... I don't know what a miner's schedule would be like.
Probably pretty similar, actually. It sort of depends on where the mines are, but—like, Edwards Island was a mining island, but no one really lived there. But it was before there were, you know, hourly ferry rides back to the mainland. So miners would stay on the island for weeks at a time, just working long shifts.
