Well, for the first round, we were tasked with catching a certain type of butterfly. It was her idea to use some of the mechanical bait the two of us previously worked on in order to attract them. For the second, we both arrived at the destination at the same time, so we carried out the task together. Alha--that is, someone in charge refused to let us split the points, so she was kind enough to draw lots with me to see who would get them.

Pretty terrible, honestly. It turned out that the person who provided the Diadem left a piece of his consciousness inside of it, and he wanted to find someone to impart the results of his research to. Only, the results of his research were that humanity is hopelessly doomed to inevitable conflict, torment, and despair. I didn't even put the thing on, and I still felt like my head was about to explode.

In the most technical sense, he pursued a theory, and found evidence to support it. But he didn't take what he learned and try to do good. Instead, he decided to experiment--to see what other people would do with his knowledge. All the pain and harm he caused over the years... [Something seems to pass across his expression, then--a deep, old sadness, one that he pushes away after a moment. He shakes his head.] Sealing his research was the right thing to do.
