Rang's managed to survive for 600 years with that horrible personality of his. He can handle someone rightfully accusing him of stirring up chaos. If you hadn't questioned him, I would have, and I wouldn't have been nearly as nice about it as you were.
[He's kind, sure--but he's also firmly driven by righteous anger and would not have hesitated to slam Rang's head onto the table if he thought it would accomplish anything.]

It's not like you yelled at him. You weren't even holding his hands that tightly. I've done worse to Alhaitham a thousand times and he's fine. [Like, he kind of gets why everyone wanted to make sure it didn't turn into a Big Thing, given Rang kicking up a fuss about it. But he, personally, wasn't all that bothered--not even because he's such an ass to Rang, but because he truly does think Rang probably could've handled himself.]
Besides, more importantly--you were trying to find out what was going on, for Rin's sake. I don't see anything wrong with that.

Mm. I don't blame you. [Other people have pointed out that Rang's behavior is purposeful. And maybe that's so--maybe they have the kindness and patience to overlook it. But Kaveh refuses to let him go unchallenged. He doesn't want Rang to die, but that doesn't mean Rang shouldn't have to suffer the consequences of his actions at all.] If he keeps making those choices, he's going to end up somewhere no one else can get him out of.
