[He will come sit beside him, leaving enough space so as not to touch him accidentally, since he remembers earlier.]
I don't think any of us are okay, after that. [He feels terrible, but he doesn't really have the right to claim so much pain--not when Rin wasn't his teammate, wasn't anyone he knew before coming here. He won't deny that he's upset, though.] But I wanted to see if I could get you anything.
[Things have calmed down a little now that it's over, but still.]
[ kaveh's act of kindness earlier has earned him touchie during bad headspace moment priviledge, though kaveh himself probably won't know that right away. still, livio doesn't look that tense when he sits down beside him ]
Yeah, yer right.
[ what a day. but he hesitates for a moment, and then, in a slightly quieter voice: ]
[ not about rang specifically, but the way livio acted. he's kind of expecting people to think the worst of him after how he started to mcfreaking lose it in the middle of trial salad. especially someone so kind like kaveh ]
Rang's managed to survive for 600 years with that horrible personality of his. He can handle someone rightfully accusing him of stirring up chaos. If you hadn't questioned him, I would have, and I wouldn't have been nearly as nice about it as you were.
[He's kind, sure--but he's also firmly driven by righteous anger and would not have hesitated to slam Rang's head onto the table if he thought it would accomplish anything.]
[ livio thinks kaveh is maybe missing the point, but livio's self-perception is also way off. doesn't help that so many people got upset about him holding rang's hands aggressively.... ]
Ya think I was nice?
[ faintly amused despite everything ] Well, he's an asshole. But I didn't wanna go upsettin' everyone.
It's not like you yelled at him. You weren't even holding his hands that tightly. I've done worse to Alhaitham a thousand times and he's fine. [Like, he kind of gets why everyone wanted to make sure it didn't turn into a Big Thing, given Rang kicking up a fuss about it. But he, personally, wasn't all that bothered--not even because he's such an ass to Rang, but because he truly does think Rang probably could've handled himself.]
Besides, more importantly--you were trying to find out what was going on, for Rin's sake. I don't see anything wrong with that.
[ livio has no idea who alhaitham is, but he finds this all so.... weirdly touching, in a way. kaveh really does remind him of vash (affectionate). ]
.... I wanted to do worse. [ he will admit that to kaveh, though he's not proud of it. but if kaveh is gonna see it so charitably, he should be honest ] Even if that Rin wasn't real.... [ and even if vash can handle himself, livio is not one to stand around and let it happen ] I don't think he should just get a pass for going wild.
[Vash is truly Kaveh's sibling from his mom's second marriage it's very funny.
He sighs.]
I'm not so sure it was him. [Which is rich, coming from Kaveh, but he seems to mean it.] I agree, though. Whoever did do it was being cruel.
[He knows that people floated the idea that it was meant to be comforting--and if that's the case, he'll find some grace, probably. But for now, he feels like he has to take it as something done in bad faith.]
Well, I meant him strangling the second Rin. And trying to hurt Vash. And trying to kill Buzen.
[ but yeah, now that he has some clarity of mind he's not thinking rang did the hallucination. and livio is absolutely thinking it's bad faith. he didn't find it comforting. he, perhaps, has one or two issues about this ]
Mm. I don't blame you. [Other people have pointed out that Rang's behavior is purposeful. And maybe that's so--maybe they have the kindness and patience to overlook it. But Kaveh refuses to let him go unchallenged. He doesn't want Rang to die, but that doesn't mean Rang shouldn't have to suffer the consequences of his actions at all.] If he keeps making those choices, he's going to end up somewhere no one else can get him out of.
[ it still surprises him that kaveh doesn't blame him at all. but he's not wrong. and livio isn't interested in letting him go unchecked, especially now that he's more with it. ]
... Yeah. [ this being pre exec is very funny because they don't know for sure who the killer from bdsm is and it generally looks like rang at this point ]
Guess we'll just have to see what happens tomorrow.
no subject
[ he is sitting on a bench being quiet (in those kind of thoughts someone shouldn't be lost in) but he does look up when kaveh approaches ]
Hey.
Are you okay?
