Kaveh too, is just a little more heartbroken as he reads this. It's so hard to untangle his feelings about the three of them--so hard to put into words how angry he is about all of the things that were done to them, that were taken from them, that they never had. There's nothing he can do about it--nothing he could've done even if it wasn't far too late anyway--but hurts, knowing that this, too, was taken from them.
And... yes, okay, he would've been upset if Alex and Jonas had been separated too. He would've been devastated about Kazuki, and he would've mourned Nahri, to say nothing of how he would've reacted if Ylfa and Haru had been erased. Kaveh's heart is far too soft for this place. But it's different, with the three of them. He cares for them all so, so deeply. It's selfish, he knows--but he'd wanted them to make it. He wanted them to have this one simple thing.
It should've been his team, he thinks. But it won't make Livio feel any better if he says that. Nothing will, probably.]
I'm sorry, Livio I know it doesn't help anyway, but... I wish there were better words I just... you shouldn't have to suffer like this Even if there's a chance it'll be fixed in the end... You three deserve so much better than what you've been through
[But it's too late now. All Kaveh can do is be there for Livio and Vash, and hope, desperately, that whatever answers they find point them in a... relatively safe direction.]
I promised him I would help look out for you So I'm going to hold onto that Whatever you need tomorrow... just let me know, okay?
I think it helps, Kaveh.... Your kindness. It means a lot to me, and to them, too. Even if Nicholas was never admit it.
[ the rest of it, he has to think about. it's too raw and painful. doesn't he deserve this? it was his fault wolfwood died in the first place. that he's going through all of this. ]
