[He sighs softly; if Livio allows it, he'll shuffle over to lean against him. Not looking at his phone. If he doesn't allow it, he'll just stand and sag a little, tired.]
I'm not sure anyone does, at this point. [If he's totally honest.] I can only hope that people have figured things out by now, and they realize that it'll hurt all of us in the end if something happens to them.
[Granted, there have been a LOT of unsubtle clues floating around, but... still. He doesn't know everything, and he worries. Who knows how many Simons might be lurking underneath pleasant exteriors.]
I do plan to look out for them first, don't worry. I just wanted you to know that we're on your side too.
[Kaveh's not a very good liar. He's good at pretending to be okay--better than it would seem, given what this place has done to him, wrested from him, over and over. This place shattered his facade almost immediately, and he never had the chance to really put it back together. In his normal life, though, he's very good at pushing everything back behind a smile.
But even then, he's never been all that good at hiding when something hurts. That holds true now, too. Livio might not notice, caught up as he is, but Kaveh tenses as the thought reaches him. He's quiet, too, but he shifts away a little, shoulders curling inward as he looks down at the ground.
I'm sorry.
It's pitiful, he knows, practically meaningless--but he can't help his kneejerk reaction. He can't even fully articulate what, exactly, he's done wrong; but he knows that Livio's unhappy, and that it's his fault.
He glances up, ready to say he'll go--but he frowns a little, distracted.]
[ he notices. and there's guilty thoughts flitting around kaveh can catch in return. this is too much to put on kaveh. he's already been forced to relive horrible experiences he should have never been exposed to. kaveh's relatively normal compared to him. ]
No. Sorry. Thanks.
[ but that's as much as he gets to articulate, because he's holding his head with both hands now ]
[Well, Kaveh's an expert at dwelling on his own misery, but he'll never do so when someone else is clearly not okay. There's a sense of alarm, and he reaches out--but then he seems to remember something, and he stops before he can touch Livio.]
Hey, here, sit down for me? [He tries to temper the concern in his voice, though he's not totally successful at it.] Is it something I can heal?

[ livio is quiet for a bit, looking at his phone. straining to remember..... ]
I don't think we have enough points to be backup. You should focus on protecting them first.

[ he remains quiet for a long time, but his thoughts give him away. ]
[ Are you? What if I kill, too? Then you're going to say "it's different" if someone kills me back? ]
