[We have been granted the confidence to pretend like we weren't traumatized by mass murder the same week all our secrets were spilled out everywhere.]
It wouldn't have been my preference, but there are worse places. [Probably. Someone is definitely going to die in lava this week but Flurry is already dead... who will it be...] Though I can't say I'm eager to eat any fish that might live down here.
I would never eat a fish from an underground lake. [ solemnly. ] But nothing says we can't try to catch one just to see what's living here, right? We keep getting new animals each week anyway.
And now you just sound like Nahida. [ it's a gentle tease. but he does wander to see about grabbing some poles for them. it being alpha week is about the only reason he actually continues the way he does. ]
I think I like what fishing represents more than the act itself. I mean I've only done it once or twice before coming here, but...it can be kind of nice. Do you guys fish a lot in Sumeru? I know it's, like, rainforest-y.
I'll take that as the compliment that it is. [Who wouldn't want to be just like Nahida!!
But Kaveh nods like he understands, even though he understands way less than Childe would have, hilariously.]
We do, yes--most of the major cities are along the river, and Port Ormos borders the ocean. I've been a few times myself, though I wouldn't exactly call it a hobby.
It just means you're good at the whole knowledge thing like she is, yeah.
[ but that's fair. i love you childe. but kaveh can have a pole. ]
We're a few hours away from the ocean, but we have lakes and stuff close by. People do it often enough where I'm from. [ inspecting this pole. ] I think it's kind of a nice thing to do when you want something to take your mind off things but without doing something with a lot of effort.

[Checking out pond fish probably won't be that bad.]
Do you like fishing, Jonas?

He'll take the pole, though! And he does in fact seem like he's not totally unfamiliar with it, but not as comfortable as a pro would be, either.]
It's probably healthier than going out drinking. [Which is what he usually does when he needs to take his mind off things,,,]

he makes a little bit of a face at the idea of going out drinking though. ]
Probably cheaper, too. But can you believe this place still doesn't have an actual bar?
no subject
I don't understand why.
