[THINGS HAVE HAPPENED... and here they are. After the NPC shenanigans (and Rang shenanigans tbh), Kaveh departs--though he doesn't go far. Simon can find him just gazing out at the shadowy figures, lost in thought. There's a tiny IKEA pencil and notecard in front of him, with the beginnings of some kind of drawing on it, but he doesn't seem to be actively working on it at the moment.]
[ during the time he spent nervously hanging back and listening to everyone else ask the questions he wanted answers for, simon came away with a better impression of kaveh than he did of most of the others. so when he sees him out here by himself afterward, he tentatively wanders over. ]
[SWEET SIMON DOING HIS BEST. Kaveh looks up from where he's sitting, his attention brought back to the present--he smiles politely and nods in greeting.]
he nods back, looking kind of happy to have been recognized as such even though the only other options are literally just reaper referee or shadow person. ]
Yeah! Simon. ...And, uh, that's Money. [ a gesture to the monkey in the party hat who's tagging along behind him. ]
[LMFSKDJHGK HELP I love you Simon. Kaveh looks a little confused at this monkey even though he lives in the rainforest. It's fine.]
It's nice to meet you two. I'm Kaveh. [A pause, and then he gestures to his toolbox.] And this is Mehrak, though it's not sentient, so you don't have to greet it or anything.
Don't think of it like that. You don't need to earn the right to try and survive. [Firmly.] You may be right that people will be more... [selfish--but no, that's mean] selective about what they're looking for, now that we have more information, but that doesn't mean there's no place for you. Here--let's figure out your skills and see if we can't think of ways you might be able to adapt them.
[Kaveh nods encouragingly, a patient look on his face.]
Well, don't Count D and Eiden both have pets with them? I'm sure they'd appreciate an extra set of hands. As for setting up stages--do you mean for performances? That's a lot of hard work--it involves keeping track of materials and their placements, maybe even knowing how to repair or substitute things in a pinch. As for driving, [I'm making the executive decision that he understands this meaning even though there are no cars in genshin] those skills vary, I assume, but controlling any kind of vehicle takes concentration and spatial awareness.
Kaveh is here taking photos of all the architecture like architects do. It's all stairwells and windows and pillars and interesting shadow shapes on the walls. I literally googled "architect Instagram" and it's the weirdest shit. Why.]
I've never seen anything like it. We don't have anything like this in Sumeru.
Both, really. We have churches and such in Teyvat, but this style isn't common in Sumeru... and I don't know of anywhere that worships... pigs. It seems kind of like a prank, to be honest.
Yeah, it kind of does... But it also seems really weird to go to that much effort for a joke? Like, stained glass takes a lot of effort and probably costs kind of a lot, right?
It's a little easier than you'd think, actually--but it depends on what materials they used, and which craftsmen they hired. And it can certainly get expensive for something like this.
Well, you'd need the proper tools and training, of course. Safety is paramount. But in terms of building and crafting, it's not too complex. [He will give more details here for Simon but I'm too lazy to google it twice]
Oh, yes. I mean, I'm not a glassworker, so I'm sure anything I'd try to make would look rudimentary at best. But I've used a lot of colored glass in my projects, so I know a number of very talented craftsmen.
anyway, simon will be back out and about in a few hours after some much needed recharging time, and will give kaveh a tired wave when he sees him. ]
Hey...
[ given that a big part of the reason simon had approached him to talk the first time was because he'd appreciated him opposing rang's apparent bloodthirst during the npc meeting, he feels like this is maybe kind of a weird day for both of them. ]
