Scheherazade... [His brow furrows as he thinks back over it.] I don't think so, but I don't actually remember if the versions I read named the characters at all. I wonder if there are any parts of it in the library? I'd be happy to show you and see if they look familiar.
[Fun fact there's a character in genshin named Dunyarzad which, according to the wiki trivia, is named after the younger sister of Scheherzade but she is a real person to Kaveh and he sadly does not know of this connection]
[well scheherazade is a real person to ylfa but also a story so that makes sense to me.]
Sometimes we have different names in different books. I'm always Little Red Riding Hood, but I might not always be Ylfa.
Still - I didn't know her story. I started to try to read it, and it made me sad, and it felt wrong to keep reading more. [it is a pretty intense story for a child when it's about a real person she knows, so she feels very sad and a bit guilty.] It's the story of a horrible king who kills all of his wives, but then he marries her and the stories she tells are so good that he doesn't kill her because he wants to hear the next one.
But maybe the version you're thinking of is still her, but a happier story?
I don't think I've come across that story, but I haven't read the full collection. The ones I've read were stories about things like the people without shadows and dreams, or the tale of the bird chaser.
[Which was about a couple, but they weren't royalty...
...I don't know. People have a name that's important, you can just tell. When we meet powerful entities they call you by that name. Like. My friends Pinocchio and Pib are always Pinocchio and Puss in Boots, but they call me Little Red Riding Hood and they call Rosamund Sleeping Beauty and they call Gerard the Frog Prince.
I think it's because in the pages of our books, that's what we're called. The name Ylfa isn't written there.
