It's the least I can do after you helped me out yesterday. [ he's gonna have to figure out how to explain what happened to his concert outfit when he gets home but that's a later problem. ] Besides, if you've really been up all night, someone should keep an eye on you before you collapse.
From what I understand, it's not quite the same--but there are some similarities. It doesn't talk, and it only performs the duties I ask of it, but it does have a variety of functions.
[Like helping him swing a sword and protecting his delicate artist fingies :<
Kaveh laughs, though, with a touch of awkwardness, in that "oh no someone is seeing through my facade quick pretend to be Extra Fine" sort of way.]
I won't collapse, I promise. I've gone much longer than this without rest. [That isn't reassuring]
I'm not sure what a computer is, but--yes, it's very useful.
[Mehrak does its very best.]
It's really not that big of a deal! It's just an occasional thing. And I make up for it with proper rest later. [Why is he justifying himself so earnestly to a teenager]
So that's what they look like! I've heard of them, but I've never seen one myself. [Genshin be like "cars? no. rock n roll? yes."] I play a little music too, actually, but it's only a hobby.
Well, our roads are quite different, after all... [Maybe he'll go home and ask Faruzan to help him invent cars. That would be fun. Also I googled and the actual instrument doesn't even have a name in genshin, but this is close enough, so--] Ah, I play the dutar. It's a two-stringed instrument--somewhat similar in shape to a guitar, if I recall correctly, though I haven't seen one in a long time.
Do you think so? [Hmmm! He looks thoughtful.] Well, I would be happy to show you if I can. Though, I'm sure you'd be much better at playing it than I would--I just like to dabble in creative hobbies when I can.
Why not? You never know what those places are going to have stashed in a corner gathering dust.
...I wouldn't say that, though. I've only been playing guitar for a few years. I've never even tried other instruments before, let alone one with just two strings.
That's true. I do find treasures tucked away in shop corners sometimes. [Shopping fun... he misses shopping... he wants to replace Alhaitham's rugs...
Oh right, music]
Well, if we can find one, I'll be happy to show you. ...Actually...
[Don't their phones play music? Hmmm. He looks thoughtful, then pulls it out. It takes some tapping around since he's still learning how to use it, but eventually, he pulls up this song!]
Something like a performance venue, you mean? Yes, I could design something like that. [Wow he does have confidence in there. Amazing] I'd need to do a little research to get the precise specifications in order, so I'd probably try to track down the designers of Zubayr Theater, or at least look over their materials--but I could do a lot with that sort of building.
[ kazuki may not be an architect but he does think it's fun to watch people talk about the things they're passionate about. ]
I wouldn't mind seeing what you could come up with, even if you don't actually build the place. I get the feeling you'd make it something really cool to look at.

[ oh but it's got a cute lil face. what the heck. why is a toolbox cute. ]
Okay. Do you need help, then? I've never made a map before, but I can try, and you probably shouldn't be out there by yourself.
[ like kaveh is ten years older than him. ]
no subject
[And sometimes you're sad and lonely and you build yourself a friend :< But he won't say that, of course.
That's cute, though. Kaveh smiles, and it's actually decently genuine.]
Don't worry about me. I won't turn down the help if you need something to do, though. [He gets it, tbh. He's feeling kind of restless himself.]
no subject
[ that's pretty cool tbh? ]

Still sounds pretty useful, though. Cool, too. I've never seen anything quite like that before. It's like a computer, but more versatile?
[ he's not akito he doesn't know this tech ]
...Yeah, that's not helping your case, man. That's not healthy. Even I don't go that long without sleep.

I'm not sure what a computer is, but--yes, it's very useful.

an eyebrow ]
I see.
[ the sheer judgment in these two words ]
no subject
--But don't copy my example. You should get proper rest. And don't become an architect, either. [Kaveh.]
no subject
[ not that musicians get proper rest either but you know ]
no subject
Oh? That's wonderful. What instrument do you play?
no subject
Electric guitar.
[ it's still strapped around his shoulders so he just kind of rotates it a little for kaveh to see better ]
I'd like to learn others, too, but for now it's just this.

So that's what they look like! I've heard of them, but I've never seen one myself. [Genshin be like "cars? no. rock n roll? yes."] I play a little music too, actually, but it's only a hobby.

[ can't fault those priorities! teyvat inventors really get it. ]
What do you play?

I don't think I've heard one of those before, but now I kind of want to. Maybe if there's a music store somewhere in the city, they'll have one?

...I wouldn't say that, though. I've only been playing guitar for a few years. I've never even tried other instruments before, let alone one with just two strings.

Ah! Yes, it sounds something like this.

[ he won't
yay music! kazuki listens very intently, and actually looks a little impressed? ]
That's... more than I would have expected to hear from two strings. It almost sounds like how you play electric without an amp. That's pretty amazing.
no subject
[He won't, yeah
Kaveh looks pleased that he likes it, though!!]
It's all in the technique. I've listened to some true masters perform at the bazaar, and they can make the sound fill the whole space.
no subject
You're an architect, though, right? You could probably design a place with great acoustics for shows, too.

Would you like me to draw up a design?
