Anyway, he listens to this and he's only sort of following along, but... ]
So... like, a network, or a satellite system kind of thing.
[ He thinks...? Also yeah he looks at that but honestly it's really hard for Wolfwood to judge anybody when he has a cross that's basically the same height as him behind him at all times. ]
A network... that's a good word for it, yes. [He doesn't know what a satellite is, but that's okay. He lifts up the phone.] From what I can tell, this device has a variety of functions--communication, entertainment, image capturing, writing... I was hoping to find a way to tinker with it so I could study it more closely, but I haven't figured it out yet.
[He's a fantasy anime engineer craftsman architect technological genius guy... not a sci-fi anime genius guy...]
Ah--yes, I've noticed some of the younger people here seem more familiar with this sort of place. [He smiles a little, wryly.] Could it be that they're the rude people you ran into?
[HELP... WHAT A DESCRIPTION. Kaveh's from genshin, though, so this isn't a weird description to him at all.]
I heard someone say once that grace is the price we pay for youth. [He says it with a touch of amusement, though, not like it's something super serious.] I'm not entirely sure I agree, though. I've met plenty of people my age who are just as obnoxious as any of my school peers ever were.
Dunno if I'm gonna develop any grace as I get any older. [ It's as close to a joke as he's gonna be putting out right now. Or maybe he'll feel at ease enough to make more later? Find out. That being said -- ] Gotta say though, I agree. I know someone who's pretty damn old and I think he might be the most graceless being alive.
[Everyone knows women don't know what pants are... or non-heeled shoes for that matter...
That's totally valid, though. Kaveh's only in the mood for light humor himself, and only because he's trying very hard to keep his shit together.]
I can relate. Alhaitham's only a little younger than me, but sometimes I think he's lost tact since we were children, which is remarkable, given he never had any to begin with!
[ To be fair the age range isn't usually as bad as having two twelve year olds. However, minors at a drinking party in superhell was a totally different thing. ]
Young people die all the time. [ Unfortunately, it's a truth where Wolfwood's from. ] Could've spared them from havin' to go up against adults for a reaping game, though.
[If you're old enough to be a protag you're old enough to do crimes]
I know. [Quietly. It's better in Sumeru--well, in the city, that is--than it is elsewhere, he knows, but Kaveh is fully aware of the reality of suffering.] But I agree. I'd like to keep an eye on them regardless of what happens with these teams we're meant to be forming, but I'm not sure how feasible that will be.
[Especially after the NPCs show up on Sunday and say "die"]

[ Kyoko, he means Kyoko. ]
There's some people here and there who seem to know plenty about this thing. Mostly teenagers, actually.

[??? He will... look her up later.]

[Teens are buttheads, he knows this.]

[ Is that his takeaway? ]
Yeah. Some of them were having a real hard time believing I've never owned a phone before and acted like I just don't know what it is at all.

[ Right away. It sounds like either siblings or people who knew each other since they were kids. ]

Ah--...no. [...] That is--not anymore.

Sorry I asked.

Lots of teenagers, at any rate. Feelin' like we're gonna get sick of hearing complaints.

He smiles a little, though.]
Well, maybe the situation will put things into perspective for them eventually.

Not exactly the friendliest way to shove some birds out of their nest.

Guess it's worth trying.

I'll do what I can, either way.

Well, if we figure out any positive solutions or trails, maybe we can share.

That perks him up a little, though, he nods.]
Yes, please do. I'll do the same.

[ Oh yea ]
Nicholas D. Wolfwood, at your service. If we wanna come back to this again sometime.
